1. Getting Started
What is Virality Labs?
Virality Labs is an AI-powered content optimization platform for YouTube creators. You upload a video and we analyze it to predict its viral potential, identify weaknesses, and give you ready-to-use improvements — better titles, hook rewrites, hashtags, and more.
How do I analyze my first video?
From the home page or your dashboard, click Analyze Video. Upload your video file, then hit Analyze. The analysis typically takes under 60 seconds depending on video length.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes. A free account is required to run analyses and access your results history. Sign up with Google or your email — it takes under 30 seconds.
What video formats are supported for upload?
We accept MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, and WebM files up to 500 MB, 10 minutes long, and 720p or lower.
What happens to my uploaded video? Is it kept or used for training?
Your upload is used for one purpose only — generating your analysis. The original file is deleted from our storage immediately after our processing server pulls it in, and every working copy (the video, extracted frames, and audio) is wiped as soon as the analysis finishes — whether it succeeds or fails.
We keep only the analysis results (scores and suggestions) in your history — never the video itself. We do not publish, share, or use your uploads to train AI models. Processing runs through third-party AI services (for transcription and visual analysis) solely to produce your report. Your unpublished videos stay private.
2. How Analysis Works
What does the Viral Score mean?
The Viral Score (0–100) is our composite estimate of your video's potential to spread organically. It factors in hook strength, retention pacing, thumbnail effectiveness, title optimization, trend alignment, and engagement signals. A score of 70+ is strong and ready to post; 40–69 means it's worth applying the suggested fixes first; below 40 typically means significant improvements are needed before publishing.

How is the Trend Pulse score calculated?
Trend Pulse compares your video's topics, title keywords, and category against currently trending YouTube videos in the same niche, refreshed every 5 hours. A higher alignment percentage means your content is closely matched to what audiences are actively searching for right now.
Where does the subscriber growth projection come from?
Our model estimates a percentage range of subscriber growth based on historical performance patterns for videos with similar scores, niches, and engagement profiles. It represents the realistic upside if you apply the suggested optimizations. It is a predictive estimate, not a promise.
How accurate are the AI-generated titles and hook rewrites?
Our AI generates outputs optimized for click-through rate and retention based on patterns across millions of high-performing YouTube videos. They are a strong starting point — but you should always review and personalize them to match your voice, audience, and channel style before publishing.
Why does my analysis sometimes take longer?
Processing time depends on video length (for uploads), server load, and whether your video requires audio transcription. Most videos are scored in under 60 seconds; longer uploads near the 10-minute limit can take up to ~2 minutes. If an analysis appears stuck for more than 5 minutes, refresh the page — it may have completed in the background.
3. Credits & Plans
What is a credit?
10 credits = one video analysis. Credits are deducted when your analysis completes successfully. If an analysis fails due to a server error on our side, the credit is automatically refunded.
How many free credits do I get?
New accounts receive 30 free credits on sign-up, with no time limit. Once used, you can upgrade to a paid plan or purchase additional credits.
Do credits expire?
Free sign-up credits do not expire. Each billing period your subscription tops up your balance with that plan's monthly credits, and any unused credits roll over to the next period — they are not reset or lost while your subscription stays active.
What plans are available?
We offer a Free tier (30 credits / 3 analyses, no expiry) and paid plans — Starter and Growth — with higher monthly credit allocations, priority processing, and additional features. Visit our pricing page for current plan details.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes. You can upgrade at any time and the new credit allocation takes effect immediately. Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
4. Understanding Your Results
My results page is split into steps — what does each step mean?
Can I access my past results?
Yes. All completed analyses are saved to your dashboard under Recent Analyses. Click any entry to re-open the full results report. Results are retained while your account is active.
Can I download my report as a PDF?
Yes. On Step 7 of your results page, click Share Report to download a full multi-page PDF containing all sections of your analysis.
How do I copy the optimized hook?
On Step 4 of your results, click the Use This Hook button below the rewritten hook text. The text is instantly copied to your clipboard — you'll see a "Copied!" confirmation.
5. YouTube Channel Connection
Why should I connect my YouTube channel?
Connecting your channel handle unlocks the Channel Stats card on your dashboard, which shows your subscriber count, total views, recent video performance, and CTR insights — giving you more context alongside your analysis results.
Does connecting my channel give you access to my private data?
No. We only request your public channel handle (e.g. @yourchannel). We use the YouTube Data API v3 to fetch publicly available statistics only — subscriber count, total views, and recent video metadata. We do not use OAuth and have no access to private videos, YouTube Analytics, revenue data, or your subscriber list.
How do I disconnect my YouTube channel?
On your dashboard, open the Channel Stats card and click Disconnect. All cached channel data is immediately removed from our servers.
My channel stats look outdated — how do I refresh them?
Channel data is cached for up to 24 hours to stay within YouTube API quotas. Click the Refresh button on the Channel Stats card to trigger a fresh fetch. If the refresh button is greyed out, the data was updated within the last hour.
6. Account & Security
How do I change my email or password?
Email and password changes are managed through your authentication provider. If you signed up with Google, your credentials are managed by Google. If you used email/password, you can reset your password from the sign-in page using Forgot password.
How do I delete my account?
Account deletion is available in your profile settings. All your data — analyses, results, and account information — will be permanently deleted within 30 days in line with our data retention policy. This action cannot be undone.
I think my account has been compromised. What should I do?
Sign out of all sessions immediately, change your password (or revoke Google access), and email us at hello@virality-labs.com with the subject line "Account Security Issue". We'll help you secure your account as quickly as possible.
7. Billing & Refunds
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments are processed by Polar. We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and other methods supported by Polar in your region. We do not store card details — they are held securely by Polar.
Can I get a refund?
We offer a 7-day refund on your first subscription payment if you have used fewer than 10 credits (one analysis). Used credits and renewal charges are non-refundable. Email hello@virality-labs.com within 7 days of your charge with your account email and a brief reason. See our Terms of Service for the full refund policy.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime from your account's billing settings or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access and credits until then. No pro-rata refunds are issued for mid-period cancellations.
Will I be notified before I'm charged?
Yes. You'll receive a billing reminder email before each renewal. We'll also notify you at least 30 days in advance of any price changes.
